COW 181 - (sorta) finished after all
When young, these large flightless Korobirds display massive colorful plumage to attract a mate and defend their territory. When they grow older they gradually loose their feathers and when they no longer can defend their territory they are driven away wandering to find unclaimed ground. Since Korobirds tend to claim huge territories the search is most likely in vain and the old specimen ends up wandering until they perish. To make matters worse this specimen has fallen victim to a June Squirrel. While not a true parasite these small animals usually cling to larger animals, using them as transportation and stealing whatever food the host finds. June Squirrels are noisy, irratating, agile and elusive creatures and very hard to get rid of for their hosts.

COW 180 - finished piece
I'm finally finished with the Beast of Revelations, it was indeed challenging and fun and I never wanna draw wool again! I'm not completely happy with the results but I did manage to deliver a finished piece before deadline and I did come up with a good story so overall I'm happy! :)

Little is known about the Beasts of Revelations, but what we do know is that they consist of not one, but two species. The true harbingers of doom has due to the evolution of its many heads and mouths lost the ability to speak human tounge. Because of this they are breeding and keeping these gentle dragonsheep to act as their interpreter. What humans call "The Mark of the Beast" is a branding system used by the harbingers to distinguish ownership among them. While these beasts are docile to their nature and wouldnt pose a threath to anyone they often appear skitterish, this is probably because they are constantly hearing their owners voices inside their minds.

A goblin detour
COW 180 - Beast of Revelations
Here's the challenge for this week:
And here is my first (very) rough sketch.

I did some research and in the book of revelations the second beast is being described as a lamb-like creature but with the voice of a dragon so I decided to make some sort of dragonsheep. Stay tuned for updates! ^^
#180 Beast of Revelations
There has been much clamoring in the topics thread lately for the Beasts of Revelations, and in honor of Round 180 (60+60+60), we should go for it. You will have the option to use the existing descriptions of the Beast found in various places on the web, or to create an entirely new Beast for modern times. In a new twist on the COW, you must include the mark of the Beast (which you make up) visibly displayed somewhere on its body. Because of the many rounds that have focused on creatures from Hell in the past, the challenge here will be to imagine a fresh concept based on an extremely old theme. Keep in mind that one of the Beast's traits is its ability to coerce and connive, so you don't necessarily have to create a huge tentacled creature that wipes everything out in a blind rage. As always, be creative, do some research, and take us to Hell on earth.

I'm joining COW
Creature of the Week or COW is a weekly activity over at conceptart.org
You are given a concept of a creature and then you have a week to come up with an entry. Seems like a fun and challenging thing, will just have to see if I got enough time to make something decent.

helloworld
So I decided to get myself an art blog of some sorts.
It is now three months since my boyfriend brought me a wacom-tablet as gift and I feel I need something to motivate me and to keep track of my progress so here it is.
I think I'll start with a self portrait I made couple of days ago.
Appr. 3 hours work
(I got interrupted before it was done and I had decided beforehand to finish it in one sitting.)
