COW #188 Final!

I really pushed myself this time and even tho theres some things I could have done different I'm very happy with the results, especially sine its all done with my old, worn Bamboo!

The Muluan Gua Lendir has developed a special type of organs that effectively breaks down the chitin and other undigestible parts of their prey into a thick mucus that is covering their entire body, prevents their delicate skin from dehydration and gives effective protection against predators because of its foul odour and taste. This nocturnal carnivore is native to the large caves of Borneo and its main diet consists of insects and small vertebraes.

188 WIP

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Hah and I almost forgot to mention

that my good tablet broke down on me so atm I'm working on my old Bamboo again. Have to get used to the different feeling once more. Its very clear now just exactly how much better the Intuos is!

COW 188 WIP

Topic is Simple Slimy

Emerging from its den inside deep caves under the jungle of Borneo comes this slime producing quadruped.

My first sketch:

COW 187

Tried a different coloring technique.

The Gnixxian Flutterer hunts by emitting poisonous spores from its tentacles. With fast wing beats it then proceeds to spread the spores towards its target. When the spores are inhaled the prey suffers from wild hallucinations and their body slowly starts to paralyze. When the prey is completely paralyzed the Gnixxian Flutterer then proceeds to consume the victim alive. Only a few tribes still use the Gnixxian Flutterers as weapons because the collateral damage is always devastating.

That COW btw

I finished it. I'm not overly happy with it and I feel drained. I'll try to put the WIPs together when I find some energy. Heres the piece atleast:

The Golden Yekal inhibited northern China and was worshipped as living gods walking the earth. They had long and slender bodys, short velvetlike fur, strong limbs and horns that kept growing their entire life. It was punishable by death to harm one and numerous altars was built to leave offerings for them. Over time these altars were connected and formed a Great Wall where the Yekals lived a lazy life in luxury. The wall served as a playground for the playful Yekals and there was plenty of food offered at the altars and the houses gave the creatures warm and dry space to sleep and to raise their youngs. It is belived that they became so spoiled that when the majority of the people in northern China was killed in the wars that ravaged the country between 3d and 5th century CE and the offerings stopped they either perished or moved on. The last recorded sighting of one was in december, 582 CE.
